Re: Who is a man's man
Thu, June 24, 2004 - 7:53 AMErnie Hemingway. When he was alive, obviously.
Drove a front-line ambulance during WW1, safari'd the old way, wrote some killer books, chilled out in Havana. Not bad. -

Tue, July 6, 2004 - 10:25 AMjames bond. he gets to do all the fun stuff, has all the cool toys, and gets all the women. And he never gets too mussed up.

Re: Who is a man's man
Wed, July 7, 2004 - 1:06 AMSean Connery, yes. The rest of them were all crap, with the possible exception of Timothy Dalton (but only because he also played Prince Baron in Flash Gordon...). -

Re: Who is a man's man
Wed, July 7, 2004 - 3:42 AMi said james bond, not sean connery! :-P I guess in this day & age, sean connery has become synonymous with the 007 agent. But as a child (yes, as a child) i read several of the ian fleming books, and james bond always had the cool stuff. -

Re: Who is a man's man
Wed, July 7, 2004 - 4:10 AMI stand corrected - I never read the Ian Fleming books, so I suppose for me Bond always has been splendid Sean -
-
Re: Who is a man's man
Wed, July 7, 2004 - 6:21 AMregardless of who is playing bond, james bond himself as an entity is the ultimate man's man, i think. :-) Suave, slick, etc. (all the reasons i stated above).
But yes, connery is an ace bond :-) -

Re: Who is a man's man
Mon, July 12, 2004 - 11:21 AMIs that really the kinda guy you like Chay? If I remember well (saw some this month) then specially a man like Roger Moore gave one of the most narrow-minded jerky perverted sick patriarchal stereo-types impressions of what a men can be, that ever witnessed the cinema screens or was on tv ! Now I'm a guy...but as a woman...I'd never ever fall for jerky types with flashy moves, cliche opening lines and no other goal than to get in your panties...if that's your kinda guy....I'm sure as hell not ! ;) -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Who is a man's man
Mon, July 12, 2004 - 10:32 PMi'm saying as far as a MAN'S man. Many guys i have spoken to would love to live in Bond's shoes. Objectively, doesn't that make sense? -
-
Re: Who is a man's man
Tue, July 13, 2004 - 6:27 AMI would love to enjoy his goodies....but wouldn't wanna swap personality in a million years....so I got your point Chay...but personally I'd pass on swappin' with Bond....my own life is way to interesting and nice for that ! ;) -

Re: Who is a man's man

-
Re: Who is a man's man
Tue, July 13, 2004 - 7:15 AMHe's getting there - being secure enough with your own life not to want someone else's has got to be one of the hallmarks of a man's man.
Don't think I'd want Bond's footwear either... -

Re: Who is a man's man
Tue, July 13, 2004 - 7:18 AMinteresting ...

Re: Who is a man's man
Tue, July 13, 2004 - 7:21 AMYou'd find out soon enough that being Bond would deliver you the kinda women that never ever are gonna be yours...except for that one short lil' fling....and sorry baby....I'm reeeeeeeally worth a whole lot more....!!!
Being Schnazzy (whatever that is) just doesn't do it for me....that's just such a small part of the whole package !

Re: Who is a man's man
Fri, July 14, 2006 - 5:10 PMa MAN'S MAN for me is any man who owns his masculinity and does not live by it! Alot of men 'look mannly" but have the personality of a ant, the intelligence of George W Bush A and are way too into themselve to be taken seriously Give a man who is just a man and is human venerable loving and passionate as wewlkl as compassionate
